Communities throughout Kentucky will spruce up their towns and neighborhoods for the 10-year anniversary of Commonwealth Cleanup Week. The state-wide cleanup is scheduled for March 23-29, 2008. According to the Environmental and Public Protection Cabinet, the event is held alongside the Keep America Beautiful’s Great American Cleanup, which is held from March to May. The theme of this year’s event is “Use It Up, Wear It Out, Make It Do (or Go Without).” Kentucky had more than 8,350 people participants helping with the cleanup in 2007 according to the state agency’s website.
